VITAMIN B1 HEVERT 200 mg solution for injection Amp.

Vitamin B1 Hevert Indications: For the initial treatment of severe forms of Wernicke encephalopathy and beriberi (vitamin B1 deficiency diseases). For risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition:
1 ampoule of 2 ml contains 200 mg thiamine hydrochloride equivalent to 157 mg thiamine (vitamin B1)

  • The drug is a vitamin B1 supplement.
  • Areas of application
    • For the initial treatment of severe forms of Wernicke encephalopathy (a brain disease caused by vitamin B1 deficiency) and beriberi (vitamin B1 deficiency disease).
  • The medicine will be administered by your doctor or other medical personnel as a slow intravenous infusion, but it can also be injected slowly intramuscularly or intravenously (into a muscle or vein).
  • Note: Once an ampoule has been opened, the remaining contents must be discarded.
  • The administration of vitamin B1 is only indicated in the initial treatment of severe forms of Wernicke encephalopathy and beriberi.
  • The following information applies unless your doctor has prescribed the medicine differently.
    • For initial vitamin B1 therapy in Wernicke encephalopathy, 1 ampoule (corresponding to 200 mg thiamine hydrochloride) is injected up to 3 times daily.
    • For initial vitamin B1 therapy in beriberi, ½ to 1 ampoule, corresponding to 100–200 mg of thiamine hydrochloride, is injected daily. This should be administered before carbohydrate intake. Thiamine blood levels should be determined immediately before starting treatment.
    • For further treatment after the acute symptoms have subsided, preparations with a lower dosage of the active ingredient are available.
  • Children and young people
    • There is no experience with the use of this product in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Therefore, its use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended.
  • Older patients
    • No dose adjustment is required for elderly patients.
  • Patients with impaired liver or kidney function
    • No dose adjustment is required for patients with impaired liver or kidney function.

 

  • Duration of application
    • The duration of treatment is determined by the treating physician and depends on the course of the illness.

 

  • If you have taken a larger amount than you should
    • The administration of vitamin B1 is discontinued. Other measures are generally not necessary. In cases of extreme overdoses exceeding 10 g, curare-like nerve paralysis has been observed.
    • Physical ailments must be treated by a doctor according to current medical requirements.
