Heather blossom tea by Robert Franz
Heather, sometimes also called common heather, grows as a low shrub in areas where little else thrives. In August, when the pale purple heather blossoms appear, they blanket entire sand dunes in their splendor. This undemanding plant can also be found in pine forests, bogs, and mountain meadows. Father Kneipp rediscovered this almost forgotten plant, which can strengthen the well-being of body and mind, and held it in high esteem.
The tips of the heather blossoms are collected, air-dried, and then crushed. The heather blossoms are excellent for a fragrant tea, which is wonderfully warming, especially on cold days, and induces perspiration. This tea can be enjoyed without a care for relaxation, as it is a pure natural product without any additives. The pretty blossoms contain natural arbutin, enzymes, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and minerals.
