Prontosan Acute Wound Gel
For acute wounds and minor burns
1. Intended Use:
Prontosan Acute Wound Gel is a hydrogel for wound treatment that supports skin healing by forming a protective layer over the wound, thus creating an optimal moist environment for wound healing. Prontosan Acute Wound Gel is intended for the treatment of minor burns and wounds (e.g., abrasions, cuts).
2. Properties:
Prontosan Acute Wound Gel contains a hydrocolloid with a skin-neutral pH value, which supports the creation of an optimal moist environment for wound healing and thus reduces the likelihood of scarring. Furthermore, due to its cooling effect, Prontosan Acute Wound Gel quickly relieves pain. Prontosan Acute Wound Gel is a ready-to-use, clear, colorless, and odorless hydrogel. The gel is non-irritating, well-tolerated, and painless to apply. Since it contains neither perfume nor dyes, it leaves no stains on skin or tissues. Prontosan Acute Wound Gel is dermatologically tested. The excellent tissue compatibility of polihexanide and betaine surfactants has been demonstrated over many years of clinical use. As an additional effect to its primary action, Prontosan Acute Wound Gel is effective against clinically relevant pathogenic microorganisms, including multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs).
3. Instructions for use:
For minor burns and superficial wounds (e.g., abrasions, cuts). Do not use the gel on heavily weeping or infected wounds. Wash your hands before and after treating a wound. Carefully clean and dry the wound before applying the gel. Gently apply Prontosan Acute Wound Gel to the wound once or twice daily (two to six times daily for sunburn) without rubbing. If necessary, cover the wound with a plaster or dressing and change it daily. Prontosan acute wound gel should not be used continuously for longer than 30 days.
4. Precautions:
- For external use only. Do not ingest.
- Side effects such as irritation or allergic reactions occur very rarely.
- Prontosan akut wound gel must not be used in cases of known allergies or suspected allergy to any of the ingredients.
