Pangrol

10,000 is used as a supplement to pancreatic enzymes in people with digestive disorders resulting from lack or insufficient secretion and/or action of pancreatic enzymes in the duodenum.

Such disorders may, for example, occur in the following circumstances: chronic pancreatitis regardless of the cause (alcoholic, traumatic, autoimmune, drug-induced, 

tropical calcification, idiopathic); specific pancreatic dysfunction (cystic fibrosis); narrowing of the pancreatic duct caused by, for example, cancer or gallstones; liver and biliary tract disorders;

previous pancreatic surgery or pancreatectomy and duodenectomy; accelerated intestinal transit after stomach and intestinal surgery, as a result of stress or inflammatory bowel diseases; 

Consuming hard-to-digest plant foods, fats, or foods to which the digestive system is not accustomed, leading to poor nutrient absorption and digestive disorders accompanied by loss of appetite, belching, retching, and diarrhea (dyspepsia);

celiac disease; inflammatory bowel disease (especially Crohn's disease); diabetes; acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS); Shwachman syndrome; Sjögren's syndrome. This medicine can be used in adults (including the elderly) and children.

Dosage:

The dosage depends on the degree of pancreatic enzyme deficiency, as well as the bioavailability of the medicine. Higher doses may be necessary. Increasing the dosage requires prior discussion with your doctor and should be aimed at improving symptoms (e.g., fatty stools, stomach pain).

Do not exceed a daily dose of 15,000-20,000 lipase units per kilogram of body weight. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, take 2 to 4 Pangrol 10,000 capsules with each meal (equivalent to 20,000-40,000 Ph. Eur. U per meal).

The dosage of Pangrol 10,000 in children will be determined by your doctor. In cystic fibrosis, Pangrol 10,000 can be used in adults and children weighing 10 kg or more. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, cystic fibrosis patients weighing 10 kg or more should take 1 to 2 Pangrol 10,000 capsules per meal (equivalent to 10,000-20,000 Ph. Eur. U of lipase per meal). Your doctor may decide to increase the dose depending on your body weight and the severity of your symptoms.

Do not exceed a maximum dose of 15,000-20,000 lipase units per kilogram of body weight per day. Pangrol 10,000 capsules should be swallowed whole with a meal and plenty of water.

Patients who are unable to swallow capsules may sprinkle their contents into a suitable amount of liquid (e.g., a glass of water or juice) and take them immediately without crushing or chewing. The duration of treatment with Pangrol 10,000 depends on the course of the disease and is determined by the doctor.
