Solution for contact lens examinations of the eye. Manufactured under aseptic conditions (the solution is autoclaved and filled under sterile conditions).

Contents:
1 g contains: Hypromellose 20 mg, boric acid, trometamol, benzalkonium chloride (preservative) 0.1 mg, and water for injections.

Properties:
Methocel® is a highly viscous, colorless, and transparent solution of hypromellose that is isotonic to tear fluid. A very pure grade of hypromellose is used in its production to ensure consistent viscosity.

Indications:
Contact fluid for use during examinations (e.g., gonioscopy or funduscopy) or ocular treatments (e.g., argon laser trabeculoplasty) using contact lenses.

Instructions for use:
Before each use, the concave part of the contact lens should be thoroughly cleaned and treated with a suitable disinfectant.
Apply 1-2 drops to the concave part of the contact lens and use it on the eye as usual.

When removing the contact lens, tilt the angle of the lens to avoid possible suction. The eye should then be examined with a slit lamp to ensure epithelial integrity.
The use of contact lenses is only recommended for trained eye care professionals.

Restrictions on use:
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Side effects:
Temporary redness or swelling of the conjunctiva may occasionally occur after using contact lenses coated with Methocel®.

Storage:
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the outer packaging. Replace the cap after use. Protect from light by returning to the outer carton. Store between 15-25°C. May only be used within 3 months of first opening.

Note:
The use of Methocel® is made easier if the bottle is stored upside down using the stand-up cap.

Keep out of the reach of children.
For external use only. Not for intraocular use.
