Mepitel
Gentle, double-sided adhesive wound spacer - minimises pain for your patients during dressing changes
Mepitel is a gentle, double-sided adhesive wound spacer with Safetac - the original silicone adhesive contact layer that minimises pain during dressing changes. It sits gently on the skin without sticking to the moist wound. This allows you to easily remove the dressing without damaging the skin or wound. This makes dressing changes less painful for your patients. Safetac also protects the new tissue and intact skin and supports the natural healing process. The wound edges are also sealed to protect the skin from maceration. Thanks to the perforated design, wound exudate drains into a secondary absorbent dressing. You can leave the dressing on the wound and apply topical treatments 10 . Thanks to the integrity of the wound dressing, it can be left on the wound for up to 14 days and secondary dressings can be changed without disturbing the healing process.
- Truly undisturbed healing - can remain on the wound for up to 14 days.
- Leaves no residue and retains its functional properties permanently.
Areas of use for Mepitel:
Mepitel is a non-adherent wound dressing with a mesh structure (wound spacer grid) that allows exudate to drain away. It adheres well to the skin and protects the tissue. Mepitel is designed for a wide range of exuding wounds, such as skin tears, skin abrasions, sutured wounds, second degree burns, lacerations, superficial and deep skin graft wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, venous and arterial leg ulcers. Mepitel can also be used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds, blisters, fragile skin and exposed fragile tissue. The open structure of Mepitel allows topical ointments to be applied to the wound when clinically indicated. You can use Mepitel in combination with Mesorb or - for heavily exuding wounds - together with Mextra Superabsorbent, with Tubifast fixation and under compression bandages. Mepitel can also be used together with negative pressure wound therapy.
