It's conformable and versatile – you can use it to treat wounds with normal and viscous fluids, during any exuding wound healing stages. Mepilex XT includes our Safetac^® wound contact layer.

Highly Absorbent Foam Dressing for Normal and Viscous Exudate

. The Mepilex XT foam dressing is designed for moderately exuding wounds. It can retain larger volumes of fluid and absorbs fluid faster than other foam dressings. It is adaptable and versatile. You can use it to treat wounds with normal and viscous exudate during all stages of wound healing. Mepilex XT contains our Safetac wound contact layer. Dressings with Safetac cause less damage to the wound and skin during dressing changes, this is clinically proven. By sealing the wound edges, maceration is prevented. Less damage to the wound and skin means less pain during dressing changes.

Areas of application for Mepilex XT:
Mepilex XT is suitable for a wide variety of acute and chronic exuding wounds in all phases of wound healing, such as foot and leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, and traumatic wounds. It is particularly suitable for absorbing highly viscous exudate.

Uses of Mepilex XT:

1. Clean the wound according to standard procedures. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. Remove the protective film.
2. For optimal results, Mepilex XT should cover at least 1-2 cm of the surrounding skin for the smaller sizes (up to 10 x 10 cm) and 5 cm for the larger sizes. This protects the skin from maceration and skin stripping and ensures the dressing is securely in place. Mepilex XT can be trimmed if necessary. Do not stretch the dressing.
3. Fix Mepilex XT with Tubifast or other means.
