- This medicine is a so-called antimycotic, a remedy against fungal infections (mycoses).
- It is used for infections of the vagina and external genital area caused by yeast fungi (mostly Candida albicans).

Explanation:
- Candida albicans is a fungus that can be found on the skin and, in many women, also in the vagina. Only when it multiplies excessively does it cause a fungal infection (mycosis), which usually manifests as redness, burning, itching, discharge, and painful inflammation. A reliable diagnosis can only be made by a gynecologist.
