ISOTONIC saline solution Fresenius freeflex
Solution with 0.9% sodium chloride (NaCl) for internal and external use in cases of dehydration
Active ingredients
- 4500 mg sodium chloride
Excipients
- Water for injections
- Sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment
- Hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment
- This medicine is a potassium-free 0.9% sodium chloride solution for infusion.

It serves as a plasma-isotonic (quantitatively approximately the same electrolyte content as in blood plasma) fluid replacement in case of loss of body fluid due to:
- hypotonic dehydration (water loss with associated increased salt loss)
- isotonic dehydration (loss of water and salt in equal proportions).
- The drug also serves as a short-term intravascular volume replacement (increase in the fluid volume within the blood vessels), as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and medications compatible with the solution, and for moistening dressings.
