DELTAMEDICA GmbH - ISOTONIC NaCl 0.9% Injection Glass Bottle


This clear, particle-free solution is intended for subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous injection and is to be used immediately after opening. It is used as a carrier solution for other medications or for volume replacement.

Indication:
Fluid and electrolyte replacement in cases of hypochloremic alkalosis, chloride loss, short-term intravascular volume replacement, hypotonic dehydration, and isotonic dehydration.

Application:
For intravenous infusion by medical personnel. The dosage is based on fluid and electrolyte requirements (usually 40 ml/kg body weight/day or 2 mmol sodium/kg/day). The maximum daily dose is 3–6 mmol sodium/kg for adults and 3–5 mmol/kg for children. The infusion rate is determined individually based on the clinical condition. The solution should be administered using a sterile infusion set. It is used for as long as the respective indication requires.

Side effects:
Possible side effects include hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, hyperosmolarity, fever, infection at the injection site, pain or irritation, phlebitis, venous thrombosis, extravasation and hypervolemia. If side effects occur, medical advice should be sought and the infusion discontinued if necessary.

Sodium chloride

Composition:
Sodium chloride 9.0 g per 1000 ml, water for injections, Na⁺ 0.154 mmol/ml, Cl⁻ 0.154 mmol/ml, pH 4.5–7.0, theoretical osmolarity 309 mosm/l, titratable acidity up to pH 7.4 < 0.1 mmol NaOH/l

Storage instructions:
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. No special storage conditions are required. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the label and carton. Once opened, use immediately. Discard any remaining quantities. Do not use if the container is damaged or the solution is cloudy. Do not dispose of via wastewater. Instructions for use:
For single use only. Use only clear solutions in undamaged containers. Infusion should be carried out under aseptic conditions using a sterile infusion set. Additives must be isotonic and mixed under sterile conditions. Use immediately after addition. Observe the compatibility and package inserts for the additives. Do not reconnect opened bags. Do not connect multiple bags in series (risk of air embolism).
