WHAT IS HYLAN® AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Hylan® is an ophthalmic medication for dry eyes.

Indication:
This medicine is used for the symptomatic treatment of dry eye syndrome.

HOW SHOULD HYLAN® BE USE?
Always use Hylan® exactly as directed in this package leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 4 times a day. Maximum dosage is 1 drop 8 times a day. Hylan® should not be used if there is an increased risk of infection of the inner and outer eye (e.g. after eye surgery or in patients prone to infection).

Method of administration:
Take a strip of single-dose containers from a sachet and separate a dose. Instill Hylan® into the conjunctival sac of the eye. To open the single-dose container, twist off the upper part of the container. Tilt your head slightly backward, look upwards and pull the lower eyelid slightly away from your eye. By gently pressing the lower part of the container, instill one drop into the lower conjunctival sac. Avoid any contact of the dropper opening with the eye. After instilling the drops, close your eyes slowly. Hylan® should not be used on patients under 18 years of age.

Duration of use:
Hylan® is suitable for long-term treatment. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you feel that the effect of Hylan® is too strong or too weak.

1 single-dose container with 0.65 ml solution contains 0.15 mg sodium hyaluronate per 1 ml solution

The other ingredients are:
Carbomer 981, Glycerol, Water for Injections

The eye drops are stable for a maximum of 12 hours after opening.
