Hydrocortisone acetate Hydrocort 5 mg/g hydrocortisonum Ointment 10 sachets

Hydrocort 5 mg/g, in the form of an ointment, contains the active substance hydrocortisone acetate, which is a weak adrenal cortex hormone. The drug has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictor effects.



Indications:



This medicinal product is applied topically to the skin for the symptomatic treatment of the following
non-infected skin conditions


: acute inflammation of allergic origin (atopic dermatitis);

scalp psoriasis; inveterate

psoriasis;

lupus erythematosus

; erythema multiforme

; lichen planus with intense pruritus

;

seborrheic dermatitis; lichenoid eczema

; acute allergic or inflammatory skin conditions;

reactions to insect bites;

skin drug reactions;

first- and second-degree burns;

neurodermatitis.




Dosage:



Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.


If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.


If using a sachet, tear the packaging; apply the ointment immediately after opening the sachet.


Apply a thin layer of ointment to the cleansed, affected skin area 2 or 3 times daily. If improvement occurs, apply the medicine 2-3 times a week for no longer than 10 to 14 days. Wash your hands after using the medicine. Do not use in



children and adolescents



without consulting a doctor and without medical supervision. Use with particular caution in children, as they may be more susceptible to suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (the system regulating the action of certain hormones) than in adults and may experience side effects characteristic of corticosteroids, including growth and developmental disorders.

Composition



1 g of ointment contains



5 mg of the active substance hydrocortisone acetate,

the other ingredients are: white soft paraffin, glycerol monostearate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), purified water.
