Herbal medicine to promote cardiac function.
Active ingredients:
450 mg hawthorn leaf and flower dry extract (4-7:1); extraction solvent: ethanol 45% (v/v)
Auxiliary materials:
Magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, maltodextrin, red iron(III) oxide, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, cellulose powder, basic butyl methacrylate copolymer, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide, talc
Indications:
This preparation is a herbal medicine for heart disease.
It is used in cases of:
Declining cardiac performance, corresponding to NYHA stage II.
Instructions for use:
For oral use.
Swallow the film-coated tablet whole with sufficient liquid (preferably water).
Do not take the film-coated tablet while lying down.
Dosage:
Always take this medicine exactly as directed. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over:
1 film-coated tablet twice daily.
Duration of application:
It is recommended to take the medication for at least 6 weeks and no more than 6 months. After this period, your doctor should determine the further duration of use.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you feel that the effect of the medication is too strong or too weak.
If you have taken more than you should:
If you accidentally take double or triple the single dose (equivalent to two to three film-coated tablets of this medicine), this usually has no adverse effects. In this case, continue taking the medicine as described or as prescribed by your doctor.
If you have significantly overdosed on this medicine, the side effects may be more pronounced. In this case, you should consult a doctor.
If you forget to take a dose
, do not take a double dose, but continue taking it as directed or as prescribed by your doctor.
If you stop taking the medication:
Interrupting or prematurely ending treatment is generally harmless. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects
Like all medicines, this one can also have side effects, but not everyone will experience them.

Gastrointestinal discomfort, weakness, or skin rash may rarely occur. These symptoms usually subside within a few days after discontinuing the medication.
Countermeasures:
If side effects persist, consult a doctor who will decide on any necessary measures.
At the first sign of a hypersensitivity reaction (e.g., skin rash), discontinue use of the product.

When taken with other medications

Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.
Precautions
Special care is required when taking the medication.
- If symptoms persist unchanged for more than six weeks, or if fluid retention occurs in the legs, a doctor should be consulted. Pain in the chest area that may radiate to the arms, upper abdomen, or neck, or shortness of breath, requires immediate medical attention.
Children:
- There are insufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children.
- It should therefore not be taken by children under 12 years of age.
Driving ability and the ability to operate machinery:
- No special precautions are necessary.
Pregnancy notice:
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking/using any medication.
- The widespread use of hawthorn as a medicinal product has not revealed any evidence of risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, results from experimental studies are not available. Therefore, this preparation should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
