Excipients
- Water, purified

- The preparation contains the active ingredient minoxidil and is a medicine for the treatment of female pattern hair loss.
- The product stabilizes the progression of hereditary hair loss in the vertex area (female-pattern androgenetic alopecia) in women over 18 years of age. Treatment with this product promotes hair growth and can thus counteract the progression of this type of hair loss.
- The onset of female-pattern hair loss is characterized by a reduction in hair density at the crown and the front of the scalp, while maintaining the hairline. Complete baldness almost never occurs, but rather a diffuse thinning of the hair in the center of the crown.
- For more information, see package leaflet.
- If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 8 months, consult your doctor.
- Always use this medicine exactly as directed or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
-
The recommended dose is
- Apply 1 ml of minoxidil to the affected areas of the scalp twice daily (morning and evening). A 1 ml dose requires 10 sprays.
- The daily dose of 2 x 1 ml of solution should not be exceeded, regardless of the size of the affected skin area.
-
Duration of application
- The onset and extent of hair growth vary from patient to patient. Generally, twice-daily treatment for 2 to 4 months is required before any effect is noticeable.
- There is sufficient experience regarding effectiveness for a treatment period of up to 48 weeks.
- If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 8 months, consult your doctor.
-
If you have used more than you should
- The use of minoxidil has shown no evidence of significant absorption of the active ingredient minoxidil into the bloodstream with effects throughout the body. If you follow the instructions for use, an overdose is unlikely.
-
Greater absorption of minoxidil into the bloodstream can have effects throughout the body, including:
- application in higher dosage than recommended and on larger areas of the body or areas other than the scalp
- patient-specific differences
- unusual sensitivity or impairment of the skin due to inflammation or pathological skin changes of the scalp, such as skin abrasions or psoriasis
-
Swallowing or applying the medication to damaged or diseased skin can affect the entire body. This may cause the following side effects:
- accelerated heartbeat, lowered blood pressure
- Fluid accumulation and resulting sudden weight gain
- Dizziness, lethargy
- If swallowed or if signs of an overdose occur, you should consult a doctor. Your doctor can initiate symptomatic and supportive treatment in the event of an overdose with the active ingredient minoxidil.
-
If you have forgotten the application
- Next time, don't apply twice the amount, but continue treatment with the recommended dose. Making up for a missed application is not advisable and could lead to side effects.
-
If you cancel the application
- If treatment is interrupted, the condition will return to the same as without therapy within 3 to 4 months.
- If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
