Groprinosin

is a medicinal product containing the active substance inosine pranobex. It is intended for supportive use in immunocompromised individuals over 1 year of age, for recurrent upper respiratory tract infections, and for the treatment of cold sores of the lips and face.

Dosage:

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose for adults and those over 65 years of age is 50 mg/kg of body weight per day. The usual daily dose is 6 tablets (3 g) per day (i.e., 2 tablets 3 times per day). The maximum daily dose is 8 tablets (4 g) per day (i.e., 2 tablets 4 times per day).
For children over 1 year of age, the recommended dose is 50 mg/kg of body weight per day, given in several divided doses.
The tablet should be administered orally with a sufficient amount of fluid. For children who are unable to swallow tablets, it is recommended to administer the drug in syrup form.
Treatment duration is 5-14 days, and after symptoms subside, the drug should be administered for an additional 1-2 days.

Indications:

The drug is indicated for supportive use in immunocompromised individuals, for recurrent upper respiratory tract infections, and for the treatment of cold sores of the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) in individuals with a history of herpes simplex infection.
