GenTeal
Lubricating Eye Drops
This leaflet contains important product and safety information. Please read it carefully and retain for future reference. Incorrect use can cause serious eye problems. Intended
Use:
GenTeal are lubricating eye drops for people who suffer from dryness, foreign body sensation, and eye fatigue caused by environmental irritants.
Description:
GenTeal are sterile, slightly hypotonic, aqueous eye drops containing 0.3% hypromellose. GenTeal lubricating eye drops contain the preservative system GenAqua [sodium perborate and phosphonic acid (Dequest 2060S)], which produces small amounts of hydrogen peroxide, which has antibacterial activity. After contact with the ocular surface, hydrogen peroxide decomposes into oxygen and water within one minute. Manufactured under aseptic conditions.
Instructions for Use:
Wash your hands. Place 1-2 drops in each eye (avoid touching the eye with the dropper tip) and blink several times.
Contraindications (reasons against use):
Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
Precautions:
Check the bottle seal is intact before first use. Do not use if it is broken. Use an opened bottle within 12 weeks. Discard any remaining solution. Do not use the solution after the expiry date. If you are applying multiple products to the eye, leave at least 5 minutes between each use. GenTeal should always be used last. Close the bottle after use. Store the bottle between 8°C and 25°C. Never touch the dropper tip of the bottle to any surface or the eye, as this could contaminate the solution. To avoid cross-contamination, only the same person should be treated with the contents of the bottle.
Warnings:
Keep out of the reach of children. If discomfort or irritation persists, discontinue use and consult your ophthalmologist.
Side effects:
GenTeal is very well tolerated. Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation. In rare cases, burning, stinging, allergic reactions, and redness of the eyes have been reported after instillation. If you experience any of these reactions, discontinue use and consult your ophthalmologist.
