GASTROINTESTINAL ENTOXIN N drops Ingredients
Artemisia absinthium Ø 0.12 ml, Cephaelis ipecacuanha dil. D2 0.10 ml, Colocynth (HAB 34) dil. D3 [HAB, regulation 4 a, Ø with ethanol 86% (m/m)] 0.54 ml, Cochlearia officinalis Ø 0.12 ml, Juniperus communis Ø 0.14 ml. The other ingredient is: ethanol 43% (m / m).
Properties
Artemisia absinthium contains the bitter substances absinthine and anabsinthine and an essential oil, oleum absinthii, as its main active ingredients. These stimulate bile and pancreatic secretion.
Cephaelis ipecacuanha contains alkaloids (emetine, cephaelin, etc.) and saponins. The Ipecacuanha alkaloids primarily irritate the mucous membranes. In this way, the glandular secretion of the digestive organs is increased. Cephaelis ipecacuanha is therefore particularly suitable for the treatment of diseases in the gastrointestinal area.
The effect of Citrullus colocynthis is due to the content of cucurbitacins. These trigger an excitation of the intestinal muscles, both in the small and in the large intestine, resulting in a laxative effect. The main active ingredient colocynthin, a glycosidic bitter substance, has a spasmolytic effect on the smooth muscles, especially in the area of the hollow organs. The other components of the drug, citrullol, spinasterol and essential oils stimulate bile function and enzyme production in the digestive organs.
Cochlearia officinalis with its components glycocochlearin, bitter substance, tannin and vitamin C is used as a diuretic and stomachicum.
Juniperus communis contains essential oil, tanning agent and pectins. The latter are used in the treatment of diarrhea and gastroenteritis.
