1. WHAT IS DELTAJONINE AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Deltajonine is a complete electrolyte solution.

Areas of application:

  • Fluid and electrolyte replacement in case of balanced acid-base balance and mild acidosis.
  • short-term intravascular volume replacement.
  • isotonic dehydration (fluid deficiency in the extracellular space).
  • hypotonic dehydration (fluid and electrolyte deficiency in the extracellular space).

2. WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE USING DELTAJONINE?

Deltajonine should not be used if:

  • Hyperhydration conditions (overhydration, including water intoxication).

Special care is required when using Deltajonin in the following cases:

  • Hyperkalemia (increased potassium concentration in the blood).
  • Hypernatremia (increased sodium levels in the blood).
  • Conditions that require restrictive sodium intake (such as heart failure, generalized edema, pulmonary edema, hypertension, eclampsia, severe renal insufficiency).

Caution is advised in patients with renal insufficiency who are prone to hyperkalemia.

When using deltajonin with other medications:
The simultaneous administration of suxamethonium and potassium can trigger significant hyperkalemia, which in turn can have a negative impact on cardiac rhythm. Due to the calcium content, incompatibilities with phosphate- and carbonate-containing solutions may occur. When adding medications, care must be taken to ensure sterility, complete mixing, physicochemical changes, and general compatibility. Solutions containing added medication must not be stored. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medications, including non-prescription medications.
