Diclofenac APTEO MED is a white gel intended for rubbing into the skin, with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-swelling effects. The active ingredient, diclofenac sodium, belongs to a group of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Due to the aqueous-alcoholic base of Diclofenac APTEO MED, it also has a soothing and cooling effect.
What are the indications for Diclofenac APTEO MED?
Diclofenac APTEO MED is used for the local treatment of:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age:
post-traumatic inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints (e.g., resulting from sprains, strains, or bruises), back pain,
and localized inflammation of soft tissues such as tendonitis, tennis elbow, bursitis, and periarthritis.
Adults (over 18 years of age):
limited and mild forms of osteoarthritis. Active substance: Diclofenac
Diclofenac APTEO MED - ingredients
The active substance is diclofenac sodium. One gram of the medicine contains 10 mg of diclofenac sodium (Diclofenacum natricum).
The other ingredients are: propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, medium-chain triglycerides of fatty acids, carbomer, hydroxyethylcellulose, propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), purified water.
How to use Diclofenac APTEO MED?
Diclofenac APTEO MED gel should be applied topically to the skin three or four times a day, rubbing in gently.
The amount of gel should be adjusted to the size of the affected area:
2 to 4 g of Diclofenac APTEO MED (a quantity ranging in size from a cherry to a walnut) is sufficient to treat an area of approximately 400 to 800 cm².
Wash your hands after applying the medicine, unless they are the area being treated.
Do not use this medicine for longer than:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years: 14 days for muscle and joint injuries (sprains, strains, or bruises) and tendonitis.
Adults (over 18 years): 21 days for pain associated with osteoarthritis, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
If pain and swelling do not improve within 7 days or worsen, contact your doctor.
When should you not use Diclofenac APTEO MED?
are allergic to diclofenac or propylene glycol, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine?
if you have symptoms of hypersensitivity to the drug such as: wheezing or shortness of breath (asthma), skin rash with blisters or hives, swelling of the face or tongue, inflammation of the nasal mucosa (runny nose), if you have ever had an allergic reaction (e.g. rash, difficulty breathing or coughing) after taking medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen or other medicines used to treat joint and muscle pain,
in the third trimester of pregnancy,
in children under 14 years of age.
