Managing astigmatism:
Assessing the shape of the cornea to help in the treatment of astigmatism, especially in cases of irregular astigmatism.
Refractive surgery screening:
Identifying potential issues like irregular astigmatism that could affect the outcome of refractive surgery like LASIK.
Detecting ectatic conditions:
Diagnosing conditions like keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, and post-LASIK ectasia.
Assessing corneal and conjunctival lesions:
Evaluating the visual significance of conditions like pterygia and Salzmann's nodular degeneration.
Guiding suture removal and incision placement:
Helping determine when and where to remove sutures or make corneal relaxing incisions.
