Chelidonium capsules, soft capsules

Composition:
1 soft capsule contains: Anisi stellati etheroleum 18.3 mg, Berberis vulgaris e radice W 10% 54.9 mg (HAB, Vs. 12f with virgin olive oil), Carvi etheroleum 9.15 mg, Chelidonium majus e radice ferm 34b Ø 0.0305 mg (HAB, Vs. 34b), Chelidonium majus ex herba ferm 34b Ø 0.061 mg (HAB, Vs. 34b), Cichorium intybus e planta tota ferm 33c Ø 0.0915 mg (HAB, Vs. 33c), Citrullus colocynthis e fructibus ferm 33a Ø 0.0915 mg (HAB, Vs. 33a), Iecoris aselli oleum A 45.75 mg, Lini oleum virginale 457.5 mg, Menthae piperitae aetheroleum 9.15 mg, Ricini oleum virginale 45.75 mg, Tritici aestivi oleum raffinatum 183.0 mg. Other ingredients: Gelatin, Glycerol 85%, Cocoa butter, Virgin olive oil, Purified water.

Indications:
According to the anthroposophical understanding of man and nature. These include: Stimulation of the warmth and sensation organization in the metabolic system in cases of digestive disorders, bile dysfunction, constipation, and flatulence (meteorism).

Contraindications:
This medicine should not be used:

  • during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • in case of known hypersensitivity to star anise, anise and anethole, caraway oil, chicory and other daisy family plants.
  • in case of cross-allergy to Umbelliferae.



Precautions for use and warnings:
There is no sufficiently documented experience with the use of Chelidonium capsules in children. It should therefore not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Dosage and method of administration:
Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1 soft capsule 2 to 3 times daily with liquid with or after meals.

Duration of use:
Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks. If no improvement occurs within 2 to 5 days, consult a doctor. The duration of treatment of chronic illnesses requires consultation with a doctor. If used for more than 4 weeks, liver function values (transaminases) should be monitored.

Side effects:
In rare cases, stimulation of motility can trigger upper abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. Very rarely, increases in liver function values (transaminases) and bilirubin, even leading to drug-induced jaundice (drug-induced toxic hepatitis), have been observed during treatment with chelidonium-containing medications. These events usually resolve after discontinuation of the medication.
