Spielberger buckwheat flakes

Whole grain flakes with a delicate nutty flavor

For buckwheat flakes, the whole grain is first steamed at the Spielberger flake mill and then rolled into beautiful flakes. This preserves all the nutrients of the whole grain. Buckwheat has a flavorful, nutty taste and is particularly rich in valuable protein, as well as satiating fiber, B vitamins, and minerals such as iron, calcium, and potassium.

Use:
Buckwheat flakes can be enjoyed without cooking or soaking. Simply mix with yogurt, milk, plant-based alternatives, or juice and enjoy hot or cold. Refine with fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butter, jam, honey, or spices as desired. In addition to their classic use as a muesli ingredient, buckwheat flakes also taste great in baked goods such as cookies, muesli bars, or bread, in desserts, and in savory dishes such as soups and patties.

Recipe suggestion "Simple vegetable cakes 500 g":

  • Vegetables of your choice
  • 1 onion
  • 4 heaped tablespoons buckwheat flakes
  • 3 tbsp buckwheat flour
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp herb salt
  • 2 eggs
  • Oil for frying

Coarsely grate the vegetables and finely chop the onion. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and knead into a dough. Let it rest for at least 1 hour. Heat oil in a pan. Spoon individual cakes into the pan and fry over medium heat until golden brown. They taste delicious both hot and cold.
