Redness of the eyelids and the foreign body sensation are reduced.

The Demodex mite is the most common microscopic skin parasite in humans.
Demodex folliculorum: in eyelash follicles, 0.3 - 0.4 mm long.
Demodex brevis: in sebaceous and meibomian glands, 0.2 - 0.3 mm.

General ocular symptoms:

  • Severely itchy eyelid margins
  • Foreign body sensation
  • Burning of the eyes and eyelids
  • tear flow
  • Dryness and inflammation of the eyelid margin

Blephademodex®
Sterile Cleaning Wipes without preservatives

Area of application:
Blephademodex is recommended:

  • For daily cleaning of the eyelids in case of Demodex infestation
  • For symptom relief of eyelid infection and inflammation caused by Demodex infestation

Demodex is the most common microscopic skin parasite. Demodex infestation can lead to eyelid inflammation (blepharitis). Demodex (hair follicle and sebaceous gland mites) cannot be removed with conventional cleaning agents. The presence of cylindrical skin scales that remain at the base of the eyelashes is a strong indication of a Demodex infestation.

Blephademodex removes crusts, skin flakes, impurities, and infectious agents from the eyelids and eyelashes. Blephademodex relieves the symptoms of Demodex infestation, such as itching, burning, dryness, and inflammation of the eyelid margins, by removing the parasites. Redness of the eyelid margins and the foreign body sensation are reduced.

The sensitive skin is cared for and regenerated by sodium hyaluronate - a natural skin moisturizer.

Blephademodex contains terpinen-4-ol (main component of tea tree oil) and is well tolerated due to its preservative- and detergent-free composition.

Blephademodex is fragrance-free; therefore, upon application, a fresh odor may be perceived due to terpinen-4-ol, which dissipates within a few minutes.

The color of the cleaning cloth may vary. This is due to the natural plant extract and is normal.

Application:
If you wear contact lenses, you must remove them before applying Blephademodex.

Open a packaging bag and unfold the cleaning wipe. Place the wipe on the tip of your index finger and wrap it around it.

Keeping your eyes closed, gently press the wipe onto your eyelids and the base of your eyelashes. Gently massage your eyelids in small circular motions, gently removing any crusts, dead skin, or secretions.

Repeat this on the other eye with a new cloth.

Blephademodex is non-greasy and does not require rinsing after application. Keep your eyes closed for 15 seconds after application.

Dosage:
Mild to moderate symptoms: Use Blephademodex once daily, preferably in the evening, for 4 weeks.

Moderate to severe symptoms: Use Blephademodex twice daily, preferably morning and evening, for 4 weeks.

Your doctor may adjust your dosage and duration of treatment depending on the severity of your symptoms.

As with other similar blepharitis treatments, your doctor may recommend the concomitant use of artificial tears.

Blephademodex is suitable for use by people aged 18 years and over.

Precautions and Warnings:
For external use on the skin only.

Avoid getting Blephademodex directly into the eye, as it may cause burning. If this occurs, rinse the eye with clean water or saline solution.

Blephademodex is a sterile, single-use product. Do not reuse it, as this may result in reduced cleansing effectiveness and an increased risk of infection.

Do not use the wipe if the packaging bag is open or damaged. Do not use the product after the expiration date clearly printed on the outer carton and packaging bag.

The expiration date refers to correct storage with intact packaging.

The cleaning wipes should be disposed of in household waste after use.

If your symptoms worsen or an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue treatment and contact your doctor.
