The Moringa Olifeira, also known as the miracle tree or horseradish tree, comes from India, where it has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 5,000 years. Originating from the Himalayan region, the moringa was discovered by the English during the colonial period in India, who then spread it to other British colonies. The plant now thrives not only in dry desert climates, but also in tropical rainforests. What is special about moringa is that almost all parts of the tree can be eaten. The most valuable part of the tree are the moringa leaves, which have an exceptionally high concentration of nutrients and vital substances.

The product only uses Moringa leaf powder from controlled organic cultivation. The farm from which BioProphyl sources the Moringa leaf powder is run according to fair trade conditions. Only local farmers are employed who grow the trees without using pesticides, genetic engineering or irradiation.

After the moringa leaves have been harvested, they are carefully separated from the branches and then spread out in a darkened room to dry. The leaves are dried at a constant 38° until the residual moisture is a maximum of 10%. After this process, the leaves are pounded in a mortar. The resulting raw powder is sieved and ground into a free-flowing powder. The powder is then dried again for 2-3 days to be prepared for shipping.
