BIATAIN alginate compresses 10x10 cm benefits:

Usage. Biatain Alginate can be used on all moderate to heavily exuding partial to full thickness wounds, including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites. Biatain Alginate should not be used on dry or lightly exuding wounds or to control heavy bleeding.

Biatain Alginate

Biatain Alginate is a highly absorbent alginate dressing for moderately to heavily exuding wounds of various sizes, shapes, and depths. Biatain Alginate demonstrates excellent absorption compared to other alginate and hydrofiber dressings.

Recommended for wound cavities:
The woven material structure of the dressing allows it to be cut to any size, shape, and depth of the wound. The dressing adapts to the wound bed, which is important for the healing process.

High cohesion:
The high cohesion allows the dressing to be removed in one piece – with minimal pain and trauma.

Minimal risk of leakage and maceration:
The excellent absorption of Biatain Alginate and the gel formation that traps the wound exudate in the dressing prevent leakage that can damage the surrounding skin.

Proven hemostatic effect:
Unlike hydrofiber dressings, Biatain alginate dressings have a proven hemostatic effect, meaning they can stop minor bleeding through the release of calcium ions from the dressing.

Mode of action:
Upon contact with wound exudate, Biatain alginate becomes a soft, cohesive gel that provides an optimal moist wound environment for healing.

Product composition:
Biatain alginate is an alginate dressing made from 85% alginate and 15% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).

Uses:
Biatain alginate can be used on all moderately to heavily exuding superficial to deep wounds. Biatain alginate can support the control of minor bleeding in superficial wounds. Biatain alginate can also be used under compression therapy. Biatain alginate should not be used on dry or lightly exuding wounds, nor should it be used to stop heavy bleeding. Biatain Alginate is indicated for pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, arterial leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, split-thickness skin donor sites, and traumatic wounds.
