The barley flakes are produced with the utmost care at the Spielberger flake mill. There, the whole grain is steamed and then rolled into beautiful flakes. This preserves all the nutrients of the whole grain. With large-leaf flakes, one grain produces one flake. Barley flakes are particularly well-tolerated and have a mild, aromatic flavor. The grain offers numerous vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins, calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, and zinc, as well as satiating fiber. Barley is particularly rich in the fiber beta-glucan. This makes the grain particularly healthy, as beta-glucan has a positive effect on cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

Use:
Barley flakes can be enjoyed without cooking or soaking. Simply mix with yogurt, milk, plant-based alternatives, or juice and enjoy hot or cold. Refine with fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butter, jam, honey, or spices as desired. In addition to their classic use as a muesli ingredient, barley flakes are also delicious in sweet dishes or baked goods such as cookies, muesli bars, or bread, as well as in savory dishes such as patties.

Recipe suggestion "Hearty Breakfast Porridge with Fruit":
Bring approximately 120 ml of liquid (water and milk/soy drink) to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in 40 g of barley flakes and a little grated lemon zest, let it swell briefly, and sweeten to taste. Add a little more liquid if desired. Serve with berries or other fruit for a delicious breakfast.
