BACTOSAVE Active 10x10 cm activated carbon wound dressing 10 pcs

BactoSave  Active®  is an activated charcoal wound dressing for odor control and decontamination . The surface consists of a soft nonwoven fabric that prevents adhesion to the wound bed. The core of  BactoSave Active®  consists of activated charcoal, which binds bacteria, toxins, and odor molecules within the wound dressing. BactoSave Active® contains neither pharmacologically active substances nor latex or phthalates.

Advantages at a glance

  • Nonwoven fabric can prevent adhesion to the wound bed
  • Activated carbon binds bacteria, toxins and odor molecules
  • Can remain on the wound for up to 7 days
  • Flexible and soft
  • Antibacterial effect without releasing active ingredients into the wound
  • Reimbursable

BactoSave Active® can be combined with the following Bamboo products:

  • CompriHeal®
  • CompriSave®
  • JustSox®
  • Xtrata®
  • PolyMem®
  • Microdacyn® wound irrigation solution
  • Microdacyn® Hydrogel
  • mediCipio® C
  • DryMax® Soft
  • DryMax® Easy
  • DryMax® Blue

Use a dressing large enough to completely cover the wound. For exuding wounds, a highly absorbent secondary dressing is necessary to prevent maceration. Ensure good contact between the wound dressing and the wound bed. We recommend changing the dressing after 7 days at the latest and before the dressing becomes overfilled. Depending on the infection status, we recommend regular inspection of the wound, the periwound area, and the dressing.

Indications

Critical colonization and locally infected wounds:

Slightly to heavily exuding chronic wounds
including leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers, exulcerating tumors and DFS

Mildly to heavily exuding acute wounds
including burns and transplant sites

Select the secondary dressing according to the exudation.

Contraindications

  • Dry wounds
  • Do not use directly on mucous membranes, eyes or exposed bones or tendons

In lightly exuding wounds , there is a risk of the dressing sticking to the wound. However, the activated charcoal wound dressing can be moistened, if necessary in combination with a hydrogel such as Microdacyn®  Hydrogel .

Do not cut or tear the wound dressing, as activated carbon fibers may leak out and contaminate the wound.
