Atrauman
drug-free ointment compresses for atraumatic wound treatment

Atrauman are sterile, drug-free ointment compresses for single use for the treatment of superficial acute and chronic wounds of all kinds. As a non-adherent wound contact layer, the dressing is particularly suitable for preventing the secondary dressing from sticking to the wound bed. It also ensures that the wound edges and the surrounding skin remain supple. Due to the neutral properties of the drug-free ointment, Atrauman is particularly suitable for dermatology and for patients sensitive to skin and medication.

Method of application:
Remove the compress with both release papers from the peel-off pack. If necessary, cut the dressing to fit the wound size using sterile scissors. Remove the release paper from one side and place this side on the wound. Then remove the remaining release paper. To absorb wound exudate, secure a sterile, absorbent wound dressing over the ointment compress. Unless otherwise prescribed by a physician or other medical professional, renew Atrauman with each dressing change. The length of time the compress should be worn depends on the wound condition and the amount of exudate. Note: If the compress remains in place for therapeutic reasons during a dressing change, the ointment may be absorbed if it is left in place for an extended period. Any adhesion that may have occurred in such cases can be resolved by applying a second, additional ointment compress.
