Aquacel Foam

Everything you love about foam dressings—and more:
Aquacel Foam offers you all the unique benefits of ConvaTec wound dressing technology—simplicity, comfort, and the healing properties of the Hydrofiber wound contact layer.

Aquacel Foam dressings offer you:

  1. A waterproof protective film that allows evaporation of excess moisture while protecting against viral/bacterial penetration.
  2. A soft, absorbent foam cushion to increase comfort and absorb excess fluid.
  3. A hydrofiber wound contact layer that gels upon contact with wound fluid, promotes healing, and allows the patient to shower and bathe.
  4. A gentle silicone adhesive that provides secure, skin-friendly adhesion and easy removal, with low potential for skin irritation or allergic contact sensitization.

Indication:
Aquacel Foam is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic, moderately exuding wounds, e.g.:

  • Venous leg ulcer
  • arterial leg ulcer
  • decubitus
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Surgical wounds (skin donor sites)
  • Secondary healing wounds

Aquacel Foam can be used as a primary dressing for superficial wounds and as a secondary dressing for wounds 3 mm and deeper in combination with a wound filler, e.g., Aquacel Extra or Aquacel Ag+ Extra.

Product features:

  • Soft, adaptable and absorbent.
  • Barrier against viruses and bacteria.
  • Can be cut to size.
  • Effective even under compression.
  • Does not stick to the glove or itself.
  • Easy to apply and remove.
  • Waterproof and suitable for showering.
  • Recommended wearing time: maximum 7 days.

The Hydrofiber wound contact layer in Aquacel Foam:

  • Reduction of pain when wearing the wound dressing.
  • Atraumatic dressing change due to gel formation of the wound dressing.
  • No damage to the sensitive granulation tissue during dressing changes.

ConvaTec Hydrofiber Technology—the first and best gel-forming technology—gives Aquacel dressings high-performance properties.
