Ambroxol hydrochloride, Ambrosol TEVA syrup 0.015 g/5ml 200 ml

The active substance is ambroxol hydrochloride. 5 ml of syrup (1 measuring spoon) contains 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride.

Other ingredients are: liquid sorbitol 70% (E420), glycerol (E422), citric acid monohydrate (E330), propylene glycol (E1520), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), strawberry flavor, and purified water. Ambrosol Teva syrup contains the active

substance

ambroxol, which has an expectorant and mucolytic effect (thins mucus). It increases the amount of mucus in the respiratory tract, reduces its viscosity, and accelerates the transport of secretions in the respiratory tract, which facilitates expectoration and relieves cough.

Indications

: Ambrosol Teva is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory diseases that cause difficulty in expectorating viscous bronchial secretions, such as:

• acute and chronic bronchitis,

• bronchial asthma,

• cystic fibrosis,

• pulmonary emphysema,

• bronchiectasis.

Precautions:

When should you exercise particular caution when using Ambrosol Teva?

- in patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers, due to the adverse effect of
ambroxol on the gastric mucosa,

- in patients with a weakened cough reflex or impaired ciliary clearance of the bronchi, due to the possibility of secretion retention in the airways.

Liquefaction of large amounts of secretions in immobilized and seriously ill patients, and in young
children, must be associated with their aspiration. Medications that suppress the cough reflex should not be administered to such patients
, as secretions may accumulate in the
airways.

Bronchial secretions should be thoroughly expectorated.
In patients with bronchial asthma, ambroxol may initially worsen cough.

Very rarely, severe skin reactions such as Stevens-
Johnson syndrome and Lyell's syndrome have been reported with ambroxol. Therefore, if
new skin or mucosal lesions occur, seek immediate medical attention

and discontinue ambroxol.
