The adaptable, all-rounder Allevyn Life wound dressing is suitable for a wide range of chronic wounds. It is specifically designed to allow for longer dressing change intervals and lasts up to twice as long as other dressings. The unique dressing change indicator can assist you by showing you and your patients when the dressing should be changed. This can help prevent unnecessary dressing changes.

Allevyn Life can be helpful not only for the treatment of chronic wounds, but also for their prevention. A recent independent study confirmed that the use of Allevyn Life as part of standard preventive measures within a pressure ulcer prevention program can reduce the occurrence of pressure ulcers. Allevyn Life is also available in special forms: Sacrum and Heel.

Areas of application:
Wound care of shallow, granulating wounds with secondary healing, as well as chronic and acute, exuding wounds, shallow and deep wounds, such as:

• Pressure ulcers/decubitus
• Leg ulcers
• Diabetic foot syndrome
• Infected wounds
• Malignant wounds
• Surgical wounds
• Wounds from first or second degree burns
• Wounds at skin donor sites
• Skin cracks or ulcerating wounds

Instructions for use:

1. Clean the wound as usual.
2. Select an appropriate bandage size.
3. Prepare and clean the skin around the wound edge by removing excess moisture. Excess hair should be removed to allow a good approach to the wound.
4. Remove one side of the release liner from Allevyn Life and apply the adhesive side of the dressing to the skin. Smooth the dressing over the wound, ensuring there are no wrinkles.
5. Remove the remaining protective paper and smooth the dressing over the remaining parts of the wound without stretching it. Only the wound pad of the dressing should be in contact with the entire wound surface.
6. Allevyn Life can be used to dress difficult wounds, such as those on the heel or elbow. The corner flaps may overlap when applying the dressing, but avoid wrinkling or stretching the dressing.

Frequency of change:
In the early stages of wound care, the Allevyn Life dressing should be checked frequently. If the product is used on infected wounds, the infection itself should be investigated and treated according to local treatment guidelines. The dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days. However, in the sacral region, it should only be left in place for up to 5 days, depending on the condition of the wound and surrounding skin, or until exudate is visible in more than 50% of the absorbent wound pad outside the central cover. Removal of the dressing:
To remove the dressing, lift one corner and slowly and carefully peel the dressing away until it is completely removed from the wound.
