WHAT IS MOMEALLERG NASAL SPRAY AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
What is MomeAllerg Nasal Spray?
MomeAllerg Nasal Spray contains mometasone furoate, a substance in a group of drugs called corticosteroids. When sprayed into the nose, mometasone furoate can help relieve inflammation (swelling and irritation of the nose), sneezing, itching, and a blocked or runny nose.

What is MomeAllerg Nasal Spray used for?
MomeAllerg Nasal Spray is used in adults for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) after initial diagnosis by a doctor.

Hay fever, which occurs at certain times of the year, is an allergic reaction caused by inhaling pollen from trees, grasses, and even mold and fungal spores. MomeAllerg Nasal Spray reduces swelling and irritation in your nose, thereby relieving sneezing, itching, and a blocked or runny nose caused by hay fever.

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a few days, consult your doctor.

HOW TO USE MOMEALLERG NASAL SPRAY?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Treatment of hay fever
Use in adults

• The usual dose is two sprays into each nostril once daily. Once your symptoms are under control, a reduced dose of one spray into each nostril may be sufficient as a maintenance dose.
• If there is no improvement, you should consult your doctor.

In some patients, MomeAllerg Nasal Spray provides relief within 12 hours of the first dose; however, full treatment effect may not be achieved within the first few days. Therefore, you should continue regular use to achieve full treatment effect.

If you suffer severely from hay fever, your doctor may advise you to start using MomeAllerg Nasal Spray before the pollen season, as this will help prevent your hay fever symptoms from occurring. By the end of the pollen season, your hay fever symptoms should improve, so treatment should no longer be necessary.

Preparing your nasal spray for use:
Your MomeAllerg nasal spray has a protective cap to protect the nasal piece and keep it clean. Remember to remove it before using the spray and replace it afterward.

When using the spray for the first time, you need to prepare the bottle by pressing the spray button 10 times until a fine spray mist is produced:

• 1. Shake the bottle.
• 2. Place your index and middle fingers on either side of the nosepiece, and place your thumb under the bottle. Do not pierce the nosepiece's exit opening.
• 3. Hold the nosepiece away from you and press down with your fingers to activate the spray 10 times until a fine spray is produced.

If you have not used the nasal spray for 14 days or more, you must prime the nasal spray again by pressing the spray button twice until a fine spray mist is produced.

How to use the nasal spray

• 1. Shake the bottle gently and remove the protective cap from the nosepiece.
• 2. Gently clean your nose.
• 3. Close one nostril and insert the nosepiece into the other nostril as shown. Tilt your head slightly forward and hold the bottle upright.
• 4. Begin to breathe in gently through your nose and as you inhale, spray a burst of fine mist into your nostrils by pressing down ONCE with your fingers.
• 5. Exhale through your mouth. Repeat step 4 to administer a second spray into the same nostril if necessary.
• 6. Remove the nosepiece from this nostril and breathe out through your mouth.
• 7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for the other nostril

After use, carefully clean the nosepiece with a clean tissue and replace the protective cap.

Cleaning your nasal spray

• It is important to clean the nasal spray regularly, otherwise it may not work properly.
• To do this, remove the protective cap and carefully pull off the nosepiece.
• Clean the nosepiece and protective cap in warm water and then rinse them under running water.
• Do not attempt to widen the nasal piece outlet with a needle or sharp object, as this will damage the nasal piece and prevent you from receiving the correct dose of medicine.
• Allow the protective cap and nosepiece to dry in a warm place.
• Put the nosepiece back on the bottle and put on the protective cap.
• The nasal spray must be primed again with 2 sprays after cleaning before first use.

If you use more MomeAllerg Nasal Spray than you should:
Tell your doctor if you accidentally use more than you should. If you use steroids for a long time or in large quantities, they may, in rare cases, affect some of your hormones.

If you forget to use MomeAllerg Nasal Spray
If you forget to use your nasal spray on time, use it as soon as you remember and then continue as usual. Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you stop using MomeAllerg Nasal Spray:
In some patients, MomeAllerg Nasal Spray can provide relief as soon as 12 hours after the first dose; however, the full effect of treatment may not be felt for two days. It is very important that you use your nasal spray regularly. Do not stop treatment, even if you feel better, unless your doctor recommends it.

CONTENTS OF THE PACK AND OTHER INFORMATION
What MomeAllerg Nasal Spray contains

• The active ingredient is mometasone furoate (Ph. Eur.). Each spray contains 50 micrograms of mometasone furoate (Ph. Eur.) (as monohydrate).
• The other ingredients are: Benzalkonium chloride, glycerol, polysorbate 80, microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate (Ph. Eur.), purified water.

What MomeAllerg Nasal Spray looks like and contents of the pack:
MomeAllerg is a nasal spray suspension.
The bottles contain 60 sprays (10 g), 120 sprays (16 g), or 140 sprays (18 g).
Pack sizes: 1 bottle with 60 sprays, 1 bottle with 120 sprays, or 1 bottle with 140 sprays.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
