The Agaricus blazei murrill (ABM), also known as the almond mushroom or sun mushroom, is native to the rainforests of Brazil, particularly the Piedade Mountains. There, it is popularly eaten and referred to as the "mushroom of the god." It grows at 23–28°C and 80% humidity.

The ABM became known through the American mycologist W.A. Murrill, who described it in the 1940s. This valuable fungus has been scientifically researched for around 40 years.
