Antimicrobial Wound Dressing with High-Dose, Continuous Silver Release.

Acticoat is an antimicrobial wound dressing with a patented silver application process. This enables Acticoat to rapidly release high-dose silver. A wide range of germs is killed in less than 30 minutes. Acticoat also forms a barrier against bacterial contamination that is effective for up to three days and kills pathogenic microorganisms in the wound, preventing infection. Acticoat thus contributes to faster healing than other antimicrobial dressings. Acticoat has a low-stick coating that allows for atraumatic dressing changes for the patient.

Indications:
Acticoat is an absorbent antimicrobial protective dressing for wounds of varying depth, such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, burns, and graft sites. Acticoat can be used on infected wounds. The infection should be inspected and treated according to local protocol.
